Season’s first humpback whales spotted off Zamami
Observers of Zamami Village Whale Watching Association spotted the first humpback whales this season off Zamami Island, Monday morning, signaling the beginning of this winter’s whale watching season.
Association members have been keeping a keen eye on the waters, and spotted two whales about one kilometer north of the island. Following the spotting the association announced that the whale watching tours would start from this Friday.
Whale watching tours are big business for Zamami as tourists come to see the magnificent creatures during their annual winter migration to waters off Zamami.
The season will continue until April.
