18 Naha flights canceled because of snow in mainland
Heavy snow in Tokyo and surrounding areas over the past couple of days has been recorded throughout the region.
Sunday, at least 18 flights landing and departing from Naha Airport were canceled due to the heavy snow in the Tokyo area affecting some 5,000 people. The flight cancellations continued from the day before, and the airport was filled with customers on the waiting list for new flights.
Cancelled flights were mainly from and to Haneda, Narita, Fukuoka and Kobe. A tourist from Tokyo said, “I’ve been waiting for a flight for eight hours. I have to be at work on Monday, so I cross my fingers to get on a flight soon.”
