Yomitan issues commemorative postage stamps for being #1
Yomitan Village became the most populous village in Japan on Jan. 1st, and to celebrate the occasion, village officials have created a set of commemorative postage stamps with pictures of the village’s famous places and products.
The stamps are sold for ¥900 per sheet, and they can be purchased in all three of Yomitan’s post offices, located in Yomitan, Kina and Iramina.
Yomitan Village mayor has a novel idea regarding the stamps, and explains, “Instead of using callings cards as usual, I will be handing out these stamps.”
