5th Mihama Manga Mega Expo this weekend
The Event Site at the seaside of the Mihama’s Depo Island entertainment and shopping area is again the venue of the Mihama Manga Mega ‘Expo, this time for the fifth time, where visitors are invited to dress as their favorite manga or anime characters.
The event takes place on Saturday and Sunday, from noon to 7 p.m. on both days. The admission is free, and organizers promise a lively two days. Visitors are welcome to take commemorative photographs, with still photo sessions allowed, but no movie or video shoots, and absolutely no voyeur shoots are allowed.
Organizers remind visitors that must speak to cosplayers before taking their photographs. Taking a photograph without informing is a breach of etiquette.
Everyone who has ever fantasized of acting his or her manga character is invited to join because this is the
heaven of cosplayers, and paradise of Manga, the Japanese Comics. This festival is held in Distortion Fashion and OUK Fashion buildings in Depot Island complex in Mihama. The hall will be filled with events, such as anime, comics, freak and game shows.
There’s also a science fiction, horror, gothic, comic, and fantasy movie convention. Cars fitting the theme of the event are also on display. In addition to a free costume play party, a anime and comics flea market takes place both days.
Beginners, children, families, otaku and foreign cosplayers are all welcome. About 15% of all cosplayers at the event have been foreigners every time in the past.
