Free medical services for children to increase in Kin Town

Children of Kin Town residents will receive their medical care free of charge starting from fiscal 2014. The new policy is an extension of the town’s “Child medical expense assistance system” that covers children from newborn through high school, up to 18 years of age.

Other enhancements include families raising disabled children who are in need of a wheelchair, for which they were up to now charged one percent of the price of the wheelchair. That will now become free of charge. The coverage of expenses for infertility treatments will also increase.

Kin Town Mayor Tsuyoshi Gibo stated, “No matter anyone’s personal circumstances, all residents will receive equal assistance.”
