Family members found a 30-year-old housewife and a 5-month-old female infant dead in their home in Chatan, Tuesday afternoon.

According to Okinawa Police investigators, there were no signs of violence visible on the infant. However, investigators found bruises on the dead woman suggesting she was strangled. They also concluded that a few hours had passed since she was killed.

Police are continuing the investigation, and no suspects have been detained.
