Okinawa to sign treaty with Singapore’s Changi Airport

Okinawa officials are signing a cooperation treaty with Singapore’s Changi Airport, today.

The treaty affirms mutual cooperation between the two airports in attracting travelers and promoting flights between Naha and Singapore.

The signing ceremony takes place at the Naha International Terminal. This will mark the first time for Okinawa to sign an agreement with an international airport overseas. According to the agreement, the two airports would coordinate their efforts on attracting tourists for flights between Singapore and Okinawa, and they also agree to create plans to attract tourists from southeast Asia and Australia to travel through both airports.

Okinawa Governor Hirokazu Nakaima and Changi Airport Group Senior Advisor Wong Woon Liong are attending the ceremony. Also, tourism officials from Thailand, Singapore and 10 other countries, and a total of 23 international media representatives are also participating in the ceremony.
