Draelon Burns chosen bjL MVP of the week

Draelon Burns

The leading scorer for the Ryukyu Golden Kings has been chosen Most Valuable Player of the Week by the Basketball Japan League.

Draelon Burns, who in the first game against the Hamamatsu Higashimikawa Phoenix earlier this month, and in Okinawa’s last home game, scored a total of 30 points, hauled in nine rebounds and provided four assists. In the second series game against the Phoenix, he made 15 points and picked up five assists. On both days he showed great point making, it was noted, and with his individual ingenious skills, he did not let Hamamatsu take over the game, and led the team.
“I am excited to be chosen the MVP of the week,” Burns told teammates.  “I wouldn’t have won this if it wasn’t for the coaches and teammates. Hopefully in the future, I will receive more awards for Okinawa.”  The Golden Kings sparkplug also noted that “the fans are truly the greatest, and this would not have been possible of it wasn’t for them too. Thank you very much.
