Karaoke operator expands to facilities for seniors
Dai-ichi Kosho Co. Ltd. President Yoshiaki Terayama announced Apr. 22 that his company plans to expand it’s business to senior homes and community centers to provide music therapy to their residents and customers. Dai-ichi Kosho is the company that manages Okinawa Big Echo karaoke lounges.
The company has for far installed karaoke machine called “Freedom” in 17 senior care homes and community centers. Terayama explains that singing karaoke is fun for sure, but it also leads to movement and thus to exercise of hands and legs. He states, “We would like to shift our concept from the leisure to the healthcare industry and energize the elderly more.”
