String of Naha purse-snatching incidents continue

Naha City has had a string of purse snatching incidents since late March, and the police have yet to apprehend anyone in connection with the crimes. Two more such incidents were reported in Naha City, Apr. 4, and the culprits in either case are still at large.

According to Naha City Police, a 34-year-old woman was walking on a street in Kumoji, Naha City, about 7:30 p.m. when two men riding on a bicycle snatched her smart phone. According to a description by the victim, both seemed to be in their teens to 20s and wore dark color clothes. One was thinly built, and the other was of small in stature. The victim was not injured.

On the same day around 10 p.m., another woman walking on the street in Asato, Naha City, was robbed. The robber approached her on foot from behind, grabbed her purse that contained some \30,000 in cash, and ran away. The robber was about 165 cm tall. The woman was not injured.
