According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare announcement on Apr. 2^nd, over two million persons in Japan receive welfare. That is 707 more than last year.

Last four months in a row the number has grown worse each month reaching the highest level ever.

In Okinawa, a total of 22,745 persons not including Naha City receive welfare payments in 16,187 households. In Naha City only a total of 11,684 people and 8,568 households receive payments those numbers also being the highest on record in Okinawa.
