Due to recent consumption tax hike, changes have been made regarding weekday discounts of expressway toll fees when using ETC.

Details and procedures are complicated, and even confusing to the public resulting in large number of inquiries to the Okinawa Expressway Co. Ltd.

According to Okinawa Expressway Co. officials, in the beginning of April immediately after the tax hike, the received some 300 inquiries a day. By the end of April, they still continue to receive 40~50 each day. Office personnel say, “We will do our best to inform the public.”
