Naha – Tianjin direct flights to begin

One more international carrier will be added to the list of airlines operating routes to and from Naha Airport on Jun. 1 when Tianjin Airlines starts a twice a week flights between Tianjin in China and Naha. The start of the fights was announced on May 22nd.

The two flights a week are scheduled to continue for a year for now. The Tianjin Airlines flights, categorized as charter flights, will use an aircraft for 170 passengers.

According to the Okinawa Convention & Visitors Bureau (OCVB), Tianjin, located in northern China, is one of the five national central cities on the People’s Republic of China and under direct administration of the central government. Tianjin is the largest coastal city in northern China with a population of approx. 10 million. Although Tianjin borders Beijing municipality, the Beijing Airport is overcrowded, and flights to Tianjin have been developed as an alternative to Beijing to alleviate the congestion.
