The number of spectators attending the Ryukyu Golden Kings’ basketball games this season has passed 100,000.

According to the team spokesman, 101,054 fans have bought tickets to see their team. This makes the Golden Kings the first professional basketball team in Japan ever to see a season attendance of over 100,000. Both the team staff and players say, “We win thanks to our fans.”

The Kings leading player, Anthony McHenry says, “Our fans in Okinawa are irreplaceable, and I am very happy to have the opportunity to play here.”
