Yaeyama Police arrested a 32-year-old woman, Apr. 29, on suspicion of setting a two-story guesthouse on fire in Okawa, Ishigaki City.

The woman who was staying in the facility as a guest, allegedly started the fire in her room. The fire completely destroyed the guesthouse but the owner and three guests were unharmed. The woman was apprehended immediately after the fire on Apr. 15.

According to Ishigaki Police, the woman is speaking and acting incomprehensively, and police are investigating is she can be held criminally liable.
