Farmers’ Markets around the prefecture are gaining in popularity as consumers are increasingly seeking fresher and healthier produce on their dinner tables.

JA Okinawa announced their yearly statement of accounts on Jun. 5th. According to the statement, sales in the JA farmers’ markets were recorded at the highest ever at ¥6.96 billion, an increase of 0.7% over the previous year.

JA Okinawa recorded total sales of ¥19.38 billion and an increase in their operating profit by 4.8% to ¥2.17 billion.
