The first direct flight ever from the Khabarovsk Novy Airport in far-east Russia arrived at Naha Airport Wednesday evening.

Upon the arrival of the flight, the Okinawa Convention and Visitors Bureau (OCVB) held a welcome ceremony in the Naha International Terminal, welcoming 115 tourists and travel agency personnel from Russia.

The flight is scheduled to make five round trips in June, and according to OCVB, this is the first time a direct flight has taken place between Okinawa and Russia. Same flights are also considered for a period from May to October in 2015.
