Okinawa’s professional basketball team and last season’s bj-League champions The Ryukyu Golden Kings is holding a basketball school for elementary school children at Okinawa Convention Center in Ginowan on Jul. 13.

There will be two classes, each lasting two hours; the first from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the second from 2 to 4 p.m. The classes are free of charge but limited to 120 participants. Advance reservations are required. Call 098-865-5110 on weekdays between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.

In the classes team members and coaches from the Golden Kings teach the children how to pass, dribble and shoot, and also give tips for defense. The classes end in an actual mini game.

Participants are required to bring their own basketball and drinks. Visitors and observes are also welcome.
