Kitanakagusuku Village is planning to construct an indoor sports arena on the land next to AEON Rycom Mall currently under construction at the former Awase Golf Course site.

According to the plan that the town and prefecture government officials are currently coordinating the arena would have seating for 3,000 spectators. The arena would be used for sports events and as a shelter base in case of natural disasters. The audience seats would be on three tiers. The construction of the arena is scheduled to begin in 2016 and it would be opened in 2019. It will be built on about 8,000 square meters of land.
