Continuous heavy rainfall caused a landslide in Shikiya, in Nanjo City Chinen area on Jun. 11.

According to Nanjo City officials, the rain had softened a hillside causing a large rock to tumble on a private property. Although the rock did not cause any damage, officials warned residents of a near-by house to evacuate as a precaution.

In the same incident, an utility pole fell down across a street clocking it.

The city dispatched a repair crew to the scene to remove the pole and open the road. They were also inspecting the surrounding grounds to see if there would be a danger of further landslides in the area.

However, no further precaution was ordered.
