A major Taiwanese cement company that purchased the site of the former Kokueikan movie theater on Kokusai Street in Naha has acquired an additional 3,050 square-meter lot adjacent to the Kokueikan site.

The company reportedly paid ¥2.2 billion for the additional land. It plans to construct a hotel and shopping center on the site with the work scheduled to begin within this year
