Land value around Gibo Monorail Station increased most

According to the Okinawa Regional Taxation Office, land in front of all 15 monorail stations have risen an average 2.8% from last year marking the 2nd consecutive year of increase.

As for reasons for the rise, officials at the tax office cite the accessibility as the biggest factor behind the increase.

The most expensive land along the monorail route is around Asahibashi Station on Hwy 58 in Naha, which saw an increase of 1.8% or ¥28,000 per tsubo (35.6 sq.ft.) in its value.

The land around Gibo Station increased most in value as it went up 4.3%.
