One Ishigaki man is dead and another hospitalized after a cow on the Okawa stock farm in Shiraho, Ishigaki, went on a rampage and gored the two men as they were cleaning the barn.

The Ishigaki City Fire Department says it received an emergency call of the incident. On arrival, paramedics found Yoshihisa Urahama in cardiac arrest and with damage to internal organs from the goring.  He was pronounced dead on arrival.  The second victim, the farm owner, suffered broken ribs and injuries to his lungs, but the wounds are not life threatening.

According to the Ishigaki City Fire department and Police Station, the cow became violent when the men were cleaning. The man who made the emergency call said “I’d never experienced like this before, and I’ve worked around animals for 20 years.”
