Okinawa’s most popular tourist destination, the Ocean Expo Park in Motobu, reached a milestone of 80 million visitors, Aug. 4^th, since is opening in 1976.

To mark the occasion, the park held a celebration party and certified Haruka Yato from Aichi prefecture, as the 80 millionth visitor. Yato was visiting Okinawa with her family, and said the Ocean Expo Park had been on their itinerary since her family started planning the trip.

Her parents said, “This is our first trip that we took a flight to a destination. We are so surprised at this unexpected gift. We cannot wait to see the whale sharks here.”
