Chief Cabinet Secretary Suga visits Okinawa today
Yoshihide Suga, the Chief Cabinet Secretary and Minister in Charge of Alleviating the Burden of Bases on Okinawa, is visiting Okinawa today.
This visit on Okinawa is related to him taking up a post as the Minister in Charge of Alleviation the Burden of Military Bases in Okinawa in the reshuffle of the Abe Cabinet, Sep. 3rd. During his visit Suga will share some perceptions of the MCAS Futenma relocation issue and discuss the promotion of Okinawa with Governor Nakaima. He is also is scheduled to make an inspection tour of the planned site of the MCAS Futenma relocation at Henoko, Nago, from air. In addition, Suga will visit MCAS Futenma and the residential area of Camp Zukeran that is expected to be returned to Okinawa as well.
