A platinum-selling Nu Metal Band and a longtime Okinawa favorite are this year’s showstoppers at the Camp Hansen Festival coming up this weekend.

The 2014 Camp Hansen Festival will be held on Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 10 p.m. on the northern Okinawa Marine Corps base. This free festival will have a variety of booths featuring cultural foods, games, Fun Land, giveaways, amusement rides, static display of military equipment and live entertainment.

This year’s live entertainment includes a performance by P.O.D., a Platinum-Selling Nu Metal Band, on Saturday evening at 8 p.m., while Murasaki, a popular local musician, will perform at 8 p.m. Sunday.

There will be shuttles from designated parking areas to the festival. No pets, outside alcohol, bottles, backpacks or coolers allowed. Taxi and daiko services will be available. Hansen Festival is a free event open to all DoD ID card holders and Japanese citizens.
