Youth, junior high students arrested for group assault
Yonabaru Police arrested a 16-year-old unemployed boy and a 15-year-old construction worker, Sunday, on suspicion of assaulting a 15-year-old junior high school student. Two other junior high school students were accused of the same act.
According to Yonabaru Police, all four are admitting to the charge. The victim sustained a serious nose bone fracture that takes two months to heal.
Police say the suspects unleashed a violent assault on Sep. 10th against the victim while they had gathered in a park located on the southern part of the island,. Two of the suspects are students at the same school as the victim. Two other boys are graduates of the same school. Investigators say there had been trouble over their friendship that lead to the assault.
