FC Ryukyu entices American audience to Soccer Festival with free admission

Okinawa’s only men’s professional soccer team, FC Ryukyu, is again inviting the American SOFA community to enjoy its Sunday match against the Japanese J-League U-22 junior squad by offering free admission to all SOFA ID card holders and their families.

The game is a part of the FC Ryukyu’s annual “Island-wide Soccer Festival,” to which the team and organizers are aiming to attract 10,000 spectators to the stands.

The match takes place on Sunday, starting at 1 p.m. at Koza Sports Park, on route 23 by the Okinawa Expressway exit/entrance #4. Gates to the venue open at 9 a.m. The grass “A” area seating is free for SOFA personnel, and upgrading to the “S”- seating on he stands costs only ¥500. To enter the game for free showing a SOFA ID card at the ticket booth is required.

Food, drink and team merchandise is on sale at the venue during the match.
