Forever 21 to open shop in Okinawa

The American fashion shop chain Forever 21 is planning to open its first shop in Okinawa in April 2015.

The location of the shop is yet to be determined but officials at Forever 21 say that the new shop would be located somewhere within existing commercial facilities.

Once the first shop is up and running, the company will evaluate the business, and decide whether to open more shops in Okinawa depending on demand. A company publicity official explains, “We are aiming our focus on local Okinawan customers.”

Forever 21 chain is known for offering fashionable clothes at reasonable prices mainly targeting customers in their 20’s.  This fall, the company is scheduled to introduce a line of clothes targeting a little older crowd in their 30’s to 40’s.  Forever 21 operates currently 16 shops in Japan, and is expanding to Hokkaido in addition to Okinawa.
