Orion Beer eyes beer exports to Peru after Taiwan success

Orion Beer Co. is planning to export its products to Peru, a country with many immigrants from Okinawa.

The company organized a beer festival in Taiwan that took place over last weekend Oct. 18th and 19th, marking the first time the Okinawan brewer has organized such an event overseas. Yoshio Kadekaru, the president of Orion Beer Co. says, “We want the 70,000 people of Okinawan descent in Peru to enjoy our beer.  To realize this, we will shortly start a field investigation there.”

The weekend Orion Beer Fest in Taiwan was deemed to have been a huge success with 7,000 local people visiting the festival.  Orion Beer is now scheduled to start selling its beers from the end of October at 2,500 Family Mart stores in Taiwan.  The export shipping volume of Orion beer has increased to 25 times the initial volume in 1997 when the company exported its beer for the first time.
