Robbery near Shuri Castle
A robber hit a 41-year-old coin car park attendant over the head with a wooden stick, Monday afternoon, in the Shuri-Mawashi area in Naha, and ran away with a bag containing several hundred thousand yen in proceedings from the car park.
According to Naha Police, the robber is about 175 cm tall and has a husky voice. He seems to be in his twenties, and he ran away towards Shuri Castle. The robbery took place at 4:30 p.m. in a residential area, and close to the Shurei-mon gate near the Shuri Castle that was crowded with tourists at the time.
Police are looking for the robber and asking anyone who may have seen the incident or has any other knowledge of it to contact them.
The robber first kicked the victim from behind and hit him over the head with the stick. The victim suffered a slight injury to his left hand.
