Two U.S servicemen nabbed for drinking and driving

Okinawan police nabbed two U.S. service members on suspicion of driving under influence of alcohol in separate incidents on Sunday.

In Chatan, Okinawa City Police arrested 35-year-old Army Sergeant First Class Gerald Preston on suspicion of driving under influence early Sunday morning.

According to police, they stopped Preston around 2:50 a.m. while he was driving his car on Road 23 at Ihei, Chatan.  A subsequent breathalyzer test showed about three times the legal limit of alcohol in his breath. Preston has admitted to the charges.

Naha City Police arrested a 30-year-old Staff Sergeant Dane Castello from Camp Kinser on suspicion of driving after drinking around 7:25 a.m. in Makishi, Naha.  Castello also has admitted to the charges.  A breathalyzer test detected twice the legal limit of alcohol in his breath.
