2017 JPGA Championships scheduled for Kise Country Club

One of the three major competitions on Japan men’s golf tour, the Japan PGA Championships, is going to take place at Kise Country Club in Nago, in 2017.

The official signing ceremony for the event will be held in Tokyo early next month, when the details of the event are announced.  This marks the first time in a decade that the event will be held on Okinawa, and the second time ever.

This is the first time in five years that the Japanese men’s major competition takes place.  The Japan PGA Championship was established in 1926 and is the oldest and most prestigious golf championship in Japan.  The event is expected to attract plenty of visitors from both in and outside of the prefecture, and also from overseas. The economic effect of the event is expected to be significant.
