Citrus picking part of northern produce fair

Ogimi Fair showcases plenty of local produce.

The 24th Ogimi Village Produce Fair gets under way Saturday with visitors having the chance to take a walk in the forest and participate in ‘Kuganii’ citrus picking.

Bunagaya and Shiquwasa are fitting symbols for rural Ogimi.

The Ogimi Village Sangyo Fair runs both weekend days. Ogimi is known for its rich nature and is the famous producer of Bashofu cloth and Shiqwasa fruit.  Admission is free to the festival, which runs 9:30 a.m. ~ 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.  The festival takes place at the Ogimi Elementary School gymnasium and playground.
