High school entrance tests held

The entrance examination to local public high schools was conducted over two days, on Mar. 10th and 11th.  The tests took place at 72 locations throughout the prefecture, and consisted of three subjects on the first day; Japanese language, science and English. The tests covering social studies and math plus a personal interview were held on the second day.

The ratio of applicants to available slots at schools for both full and part-time courses was 0.97. That means that there were 97 applicants for every 100 available seats at public high schools in the prefecture.

The number of students taking the exam decreased from the previous year by 266 to 12,677.  The test results will be announced at 9 a.m. on Mar. 17th.
