Itoman Police arrested 49-year-old self-described vocational school student Koichiro Kinjo, Sunday, in Shiohira, Itoman, on suspicion of an attempted murder. Kinjo has reportedly admitted to the charges.

According to Itoman Police, Kinjo attacked Sunday afternoon his friend, a 60-year-old company manager, from behind, and stabbed him in his lower back with a kitchen knife on the company property in Nishizaki, Itoman.  The victim’s injury is not life threatening.

Police detected alcohol in Kinjo’s breath when he was arrested. Investigators say the two seem to have had money trouble between them. Kinjo had previously been a-worker at the same company with the victim.
