Okiawa Corporate Games start today and end Sunday with a large party in Mihama.

Months of planning for the Okinawa version of the international Corporate Games get under way today with hundreds of individuals and businesses competing in dozens of sports events.

The Corporate Games festivities include two nights of celebration at special venues next to the Hilton Chatan Resort, and both are open to the public for nominal fees.  Organizers say more than 1,500 participants have joined this year’s Corporate Games Okinawa, including foreigners, and note that networking opportunities abound. Sponsors for the Okinawa Corporate Games include Toyota, OTS, NEC, Yuaikai, AIG, AEON, Hilton, Orion, Daidoukasai, Okinawa Bank, Ryukyu Bank, Fujitsu Ten, Okinawa International University, Canon, Ryukyu Rehabilitation Academy, Kin Rehabilitation Clinic, Green House, JACKPOT PLANNNING, Okinawa Churashima Foundation, and M’s Corporation.

HIDEKATSU

The Games Celebration is Saturday night beginning at 7 p.m., with doors open to the public at 7:30 p.m.  On Sunday, the Closing Awards Celebration begins at 7 p.m., with doors open to the public at 6 pm. Both take place at the special venue adjacent to the Hilton Chatan Resort. The entry fee for the public is ¥500 per person. Food and drink tickets are ¥1,000.  Okinawa musicians, including Sansanar (Okinawan pops), Tokky’s Friday Party (Pops), Reimie Furugen (Pops), and Hidekatsu (Okinawan folk music), will have live performances during the evening festivities.
