Civil servant slapped pay cut for skipping work without notice

Prefectural government officials announced Monday that they are taking a disciplinary action against a male staff member in his 40’s who works at the prefectural Personnel Welfare Division.

They said that they have imposed a 10% per month pay cut for three months on the man. He has reportedly been absent from work repeatedly without giving any notice, for a total of 236 hours.

According to officials, the man had skipped work for about 196 hours between June 28th and September 27th in 2013, and for about 40 hours since December 10th, 2014 to present claiming poor health and mental fatigue but without presenting a valid proof.
