The new task force that was established on May 13th is working as a part of the Prefectural Regional Security Policy Division, and has five members, each an expert on his or her specific field. Deputy Governor Mitsuo Ageda gave the orders to transfer the five members to the task force from various prefectural departments, such as the Military Base Affairs Division, the Civil Engineering and Construction Department, the Fisheries Division and Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Department and the Environmental Affairs Department.

Okinawa Governor Takeshi Onaga pledged in his election campaign to stop the construction at Henoko by using all necessary legal measures.  The new special task force will intensively consider legislative response in the possible situation of starting litigation against the national government over the Henoko issue.
