Tigerair to become fifth airline to fly Naha-Taipei route

Tigerair Taiwan, an LCC airline that is a joint venture of China Airlines Group and Tiger Airways Holdings, announced it will start flying a three round trips a week between Naha and Taipei from June 26th.

According to the published schedule, the airline will run the round trips on Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays, using an Airbus 320 aircraft.  This is the first time for the company to fly between Okinawa and Taipei.

Tigerair Taiwan was established as a joint venture between Tiger Airways Holdings and China Airlines in 2013 becoming the first ever low-cost carrier in Taiwan.

Currently, four carriers run the route between Naha and Taipei. They are China Airlines, TransAsia Airways, Eva Air and Peach Aviation.  Tigerair will thus become the fifth to operate the same route.
