A passerby noticed a man floating face down in the sea at Aja Harbor in Naha in the morning of Jul. 9th and called the police.

A Naha Fire Station rescue team took the 31-year-old man from Naha to a hospital in cardiac or respiratory arrest. Attempts to resuscitate him were not successful and he was confirmed dead before noon on the same day.

Police investigating the accident believes the man had been fishing at the harbor, and somehow fell in the ocean.
