Naha Police arrested two junior high school boys Jul. 23rd on suspicion of robbery. The two are suspected of robbing a woman of her handbag on a street in Asato, Naha.

According to Naha Police, the two boys are 14 and 15 years old, and students at a junior high school in Naha. Police say the boys snatched a handbag containing about ¥50,000 in cash from a 68-year-old woman walking on a street about 4 a.m. on Jul. 23rd. After grabbing the handbag the boys ran away. The woman fell down on the ground during the robbery, and suffered a cut on her hand.

On the same day, another snatch-and-run case occurred in Makishi, Naha, when five boys snatched the bag of another woman. Naha Police is investigating a possible connection between the cases, because the method of the robbery in both cases is similar.
