A fatal traffic accident occurred in Motobu Town, Wednesday, when a car hit a college student riding on a skateboard.

According to police, the 20-year-old college student from Aichi prefecture was riding on a skateboard on a street in Sakimotobu, Motobu Town, about 9 p.m. on Aug. 2nd, when a car driven by a 73-year-old self-employed man from Motobu Town, crashed into him from behind. The college student fell down on the ground and hit his head resulting in severe bleeding inside his skull.

The site of the accident is a four-lane straight road, and the college student was skating on the left side of the road going towards Motobu from Nago. The car was moving to the same direction when the accident occurred.
