Four castle sites on Okinawa were selected among the top 20 most visit worthy castle sites in Japan 2015 by public voting for the category on TripAdvisor website. TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel-related word-of-mouth website, announced results of its on-line survey on Aug. 26th.

Responders to the survey, titled “Good castles to visit in Japan 2015” picked up four places in Okinawa to top 20.

Zakimi Castle Ruins in Yomitan Village was on the 11th place followed by Katsuren Castle Ruins in Uruma City that was voted to the 12th place. Nakagusuku Castle Ruins between Kitanakagusuku and Nakagusuku Villages was the 14th and Shuri Castle in Naha the 17th.

In all of Japan, the most popular castle was Kumamoto Castle in Kumamoto Prefecture followed by Matsumoto Castle in Nagano Prefecture and Himeji Castle in Hyogo Prefecture.
