Orion Beer Co. Ltd. is going ahead with its plan to build a 200-to-300-room resort hotel on the 32,623-square-meter site of the former Deigo-sou in Yonamine, Nakijin Village. The aim is to have the hotel open in 2019.

Deigo-sou was originally built in 1977 as a resort facility for teachers, school staff and their families as a family benefit in 1977. However the facility closed in 2008 due to decreasing number users, and Nakijin Village Government bought the facility in 2010.

In March the village government publicly started looking for a buyer to the site, and subsequently entered into negotiations with Orion Beer in May.
