Frozen juice labeled ‘Acerola Frozen’ produced in Motobu Town won the first prize in the 6th Nippon Local Snack Ranking Contest that took place at a local produce exhibition in Tokyo from Nov 20th to 22nd. This marks the first time for a product from Okinawa to win the prize.
The contest is a popular annual event hosted by the Central Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry. One product from each of the 47 prefectures in Japan is invited to the contest. Each local chamber of commerce and industry selects the product, and visitors to the event then vote for the winner.
Acerola Frozen will go to the store shelves nationwide from December.
