Large aviation conference planned for Okinawa in 2017
Gerard Brown, the head of Future Events at United Business Media, a leading business-to-business media and market information company in the U.K., visited Okinawa Governor Takeshi Onaga, Nov. 5th, at the Prefectural Government Office to talk about ‘Routes Asia 2017’, an annual aviation-related International business forum.
Brown reported to Onaga that organizers of Routes Asia 2017 have decided to hold the event in Okinawa in 2017. On his part, Governor Onaga promised the prefecture would support the event in any way they could, and would like to deepen exchange with Asian countries. Routes Asia 2017 will be held over a period of four days from Mar. 18th, 2017. It will also be the first time it’s held in Japan.
According to information provided to the prefectural government, about 400 airline and airport companies, mainly from Asia, will participate in the event. Brown said that about 1,200 people from 35 countries would visit Okinawa for the event, including CEOs and people who are responsible for route development. Brown said that, “We would like to cooperate with the prefecture in order to introduce new routes to Okinawa.”
