Okinawa City Police arrested a 27-year-old Marine Lance Corporal stationed on MCAS Futenma on suspicion of causing damage to private property Saturday evening. The Marine is suspected of kicking in a passenger-side door of a car parked on a parking lot of a bar in Mihama, Chatan Town.

According to police, a friend of the car owner noticed the marine kicking the car door when he came out of the bar, and called the police.

Investigators say, the marine started kicking the car when he reportedly walked by the spot with a group of about 10 of his friends. Alcohol was detected in his breath when he was arrested. Police are questioning the Marine and trying to figure out the reason for his behavior.
