Ishigaki Coast Guard received an emergency call from a family member of a male fishing boat owner, Sunday morning, reporting that the man has not returned from a fishing trip to the sea.

The Coast Guard mounted a search for the man who’s reportedly in his 70’s, but they found only his empty boat floating by a reef off Inoda Fishing Port in Tozato, Ishigaki City. but no trace of the man.

According to Ishigaki Coast Guard, the boat was found floating on the sea with its engine running and the anchor cast in the water.
