Okinawa City Police took nine 14-year-old junior high school boys and girls and one 11-year-old elementary school boy from Okinawa City into custody Saturday on suspicion of drinking alcohol.

According to police, the youths are suspected of drinking beer at a park in Sonda, Okinawa City, in the afternoon of Dec. 19th. A passerby reported police seeing the incident later on the same day.

All children involved are reportedly friends with other, and police are investigating how they managed to purchase the alcohol.
